Real wood needs to be treated with care. We recommend frequently dusting with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Clean the surface by rubbing in the direction of the grain. If using a furniture dusting-aid product, make sure to follow the manufacturer’s directions on the product. Avoid harsh direct sunlight as this can have an effect on the wood dyes used unless the product is specific for outdoor use where we apply high-quality outdoor polish.

Our pieces have a high performance conversion varnish top coat that can mostly tolerate the mild heat, moisture, and household chemicals. It includes UV absorbers for enhanced UV resistance and color stability. The top coat passes all KCMA tests and AWI System 5, for household chemicals, solvents and moisture resistance tests. The conversion varnish top coat requires low care and cleaning. Please avoid exposure to extreme temperatures and use coasters under hot objects, such as coffee pots and cups. We recommend periodic cleaning with a mild detergent and water solution to remove dirt, dust, and grease that buildup with routine use. Dampen a soft non-abrasive cloth and wipe the entire exterior surface. Dry with a soft cloth. Solid wood furniture is a natural product and may expand and contract if subjected to varying temperature and excessive moisture conditions.
